Flight Testing

At the Skyway Range, companies can test unmanned aerial vehicles within this nationally unique flight test range.

With a perimeter of 114 nautical miles, Skyway Range encompasses 1200 square miles of urban/rural testing conditions with diverse topography and infrastructure. Combined with the unmatched proximity to Tulsa's city center and Tulsa International Airport’s Class C airspace, Skyway Range offers more than the typical test range.

This unique flexibility gives companies the ability to demonstrate safety, security, and performance in a variety of conditions - enabling adaptation to new regulations and use cases. With 300+ flying days per year and advanced indoor weather testing capabilities provided by WindShape, the Skyway Range offers an unmatched breadth of testing capabilities for UAS and AAM companies.

Skyway 36

Skyway36 is the primary entry point for Skyway Range. Strategically situated at the intersection of urban cityscape and rural areas, Skyway36 is an ideal location for flight testing all modes of UAS and AAM technologies. Located less than 5 miles from downtown Tulsa, and 10 miles from Tulsa International Airport.

Other benefits of testing at this site include:
90+ acre droneport/airport with 60+ acres of large and small parcels available for development
3,000’ paved runway suitable for fixed wing UAS and small GA aircraft
2,000+ miles of uncongested class G airspace to the northwest
The Osage Casino and Hotel is located adjacent to the droneport. The convenient location offers comfortable luxury accommodations, dining, conference rooms, ballrooms, event venue, and state of the art gaming.

Skyway North

The Skyway North site is a former limestone rock quarry situated on the northern end of the 43,000-acre Osage Nation Ranch and is the northernmost point of the Skyway Range. It is located less than 10 miles away from Pawhuska Oklahoma and 3.5 miles from the Pawhuska Municipal Airport.

Other benefits of testing at this site include:
Access to the Osage Nation Ranch land and controlled ground risk.
Natural rock walls create greater privacy and operational control vs open air sites.
Southern edge of the site provides a vantage point for visual observation for miles of uncongested airspace to the south.

OSU Unmanned Aircraft Flight Station

The OSU Unmanned Aircraft Flight Station (OSU UAFS) is Oklahoma State Universities flagship unmanned aircraft flight testing center, and the western entry point into the Skyway Range. Located 14 miles east of Stillwater and OSU’s main campus, it resides in a rural low population area.  The OSU UAFS is a globally recognized flight test center, supporting all aspects of unmanned flight research and testing.

Other benefits of testing at this site include:
A 900-foot UAS runway, and multiple VTOL and Multicopter launch points.
Dedicated support infrastructure capable of hosting small- and large-scale test events.
Remote location and controlled access for special events, privacy, and security.
Access to OSU Faculty and Staff expertise in:

- Vehicle design, automation, fabrication, and testing
- Sensor and payload integration
- Counter UAS system testing and Red Team Flight Activities.

CENFEX

The OSU Center for Fire and Explosives, Forensic Investigation is Oklahoma State Universities test range capable of supporting controlled fires and explosive detonations. Located 3 miles northwest of Pawnee Oklahoma, OSU CENFEX resides in a rural low population area and is the northwestern entry point into the Skyway Range.

Other benefits of testing at this site include:
A 600-foot UAS runway
Multiple VTOL and Multicopter launch points
Remote location and controlled access for special events, privacy, and security.

Facilities

Whether you’re paying a visit to test or looking to relocate to Tulsa,
the Skyway36 Drone Port, a component of the Skyway Range, offers
access to numerous state-of-the-art facilities to support your business.

The facility includes a renovated hangar and office space, a 3,000-ft. runway for fixed-wing aircraft and helipad space for unmanned aerial systems and electric vertical takeoff and landing (EVTOL) vehicles. 
The center also features onsite aircraft fueling, parking and an Osage Nation-owned.
